Livestock Care Specialist

At Maple Leaf Foods, we're committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our animals. As a Pig Production Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our pigs and contributing to our company's mission.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of pig production, including feeding, maintaining herd health, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. You'll also be responsible for general maintenance, cleaning, and clerical duties, such as maintaining inventory trackers and ordering feed and medication.
Requirements:
We're looking for a self-motivated individual with strong team and interpersonal skills. You'll need to be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have a positive work ethic and attitude. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously. A valid driver's license and the ability to get to and from work in a rural area are also required. Weekend, holiday hours, and alarm attending are required on a rotational basis.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in hog production is considered an asset, but not required. If you're a team player with a passion for animal care and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply.
