This is an exciting opportunity for a physician to engage in research and/or teaching positions with Dalhousie University, as well as, local simulation-based opportunities.
The Emergency Department at Hants Community Hospital is a 24-hour facility with a full scope of practice for emergency physicians.
The hospital provides inpatient care, long-term care, surgery programs, and several specialty clinics, including obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, and hematology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Responsibilities- Provide full scope of practice as an emergency physician
- Be responsible to the department head for emergency medicine for professional responsibilities and quality of practice
- Full-time position available
- 10-hour day shifts and 14-hour night shifts available
- Flexible shifts each month
- Single coverage shifts
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) for family physicians
- Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for specialists
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Current Certification
