We are currently seeking a Aquatics Program Supervisor to be part of our dedicated team of professionals. This full-time role within the Association is based at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Chippewa location.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Aquatics, the Aquatics Program Supervisor is tasked with the planning and development of programs and services in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, and standards, while ensuring participant satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership on the pool deck during scheduled aquatic programs.
  • Organize and schedule activities, programs, and special events.
  • Address inquiries regarding programs in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a positive role model for all program participants.
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process, including job postings, interviews, and reference checks.
  • Lead staff onboarding, including orientation, training, and mentorship.
  • Manage course creation, registration, and waitlists.
  • Communicate effectively with program participant guardians.
  • Complete incident reports for submission to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is completed promptly.
  • Foster relationships with members and guests, promoting the YMCA as a charitable organization.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
  • National Lifeguard certification (NL) in good standing.
  • YMCA Swim Instructor Certification or Lifesaving Society Instructor and examiner preferred.
  • Aquafit instruction experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification.
  • Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.
