We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at St. Johns Hospital in Vanderhoof, BC. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions, processing medication orders, and maintaining stock levels.
Key Responsibilities- Process medication orders, verifying their clinical appropriateness and accuracy
- Prepare, process, and compound prescriptions, ensuring their completeness and authenticity
- Verify order entries and perform final checks on dispensed prescriptions
- Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies
- Enter and ensure the accuracy and completeness of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system
- Maintain stock levels and perform clerical duties as assigned
- Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to keyboard
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
