The Adolescent Support Specialist role focuses on delivering guidance and support services to young individuals and their families impacted by substance use challenges. This position necessitates availability beyond standard working hours to assist youth in urgent situations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting needs assessments to identify the specific requirements of youth.
2. Providing therapeutic support and crisis management.
3. Overseeing a welcoming drop-in space for youth.
4. Leading support group sessions to foster community and healing.
5. Maintaining comprehensive case management records.
Candidate Profile:
The successful applicant will possess a background in social sciences, with hands-on experience in engaging with adolescents. A solid understanding of youth development and intervention techniques is essential. Strong communication abilities and the capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively are crucial.
