Job Title: Corporate Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance leadership team, you will be responsible for leading full-cycle accounting processes, delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, and shaping the future of our finance operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage end-to-end accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Tax, and Capital Assets.
  2. Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with ASPE and other regulatory requirements.
  3. Lead and champion the continuous improvement and transformation of finance processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  4. Identify and implement financial technologies and best practices to streamline operations and drive strategic value.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new systems and processes across the organization.
  6. Build a robust treasury function, managing the organization's liquidity, investments, and financial risks to optimize cash position and flow.
  7. Perform reconciliations and variance analyses to explain significant fluctuations and trends.
  8. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, and manage tax filings, audits, and assessments.
  9. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information.
  10. Assess financial internal controls and implement improvements as needed to mitigate risks.
  11. Lead the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders.
  12. Support the budgeting and forecasting processes and provide financial analyses as needed.
  13. Manage and mentor a team of staff and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  14. Provide strategic insights and leadership to ensure the financial and operational success of M&A transactions.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  1. A CA or CPA designation and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  2. At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance, preferably in a manufacturing, food, or dairy industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of ASPE, tax laws, and accounting best practices.
  4. Experience with ERP systems, consolidations, and financial reporting tools.
  5. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
  7. A passion for manufacturing, the dairy industry, and a commitment to our cooperative values.
  8. Proven experience in improving processes across all areas of accounting.
  9. Proven experience in leading finance modernization projects and implementing financial best practices.
  10. Experience in M&A is an asset.
  11. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
