About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team at HSG Welding & Fabrication. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the fabrication and assembly of metal parts and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation and Execution
    • Interpret welding process specifications and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal parts and products.
    • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to fabricate and assemble metal parts and products.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair
    • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Conduct quality control checks to ensure that fabricated and assembled metal parts and products meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Team Collaboration and Support
    • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
    • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
    • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
    • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
  • Work Environment and Hours
    • Work in a fast-paced fabrication environment with varying shifts and hours.
    • Work 35 to 40 hours per week.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience
    • Arc welding machine.
    • Butt or seam resistance welding machine.
    • Spot welding machine.
Language and Work Term
  • Language
    • English.
