Job Title: Clinician, Geriatric Community Mental Health, Masters

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinician to join our Geriatric Community Mental Health team. As a Clinician, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, consultation, and follow-up services to mentally ill elderly clients of special complexity and difficulty, and their caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical services to elderly clients and their caregivers, including comprehensive psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and interventions.
  2. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement care plans, and provide consultation and support to families and caregivers.
  3. Participate in the provision of community education and liaison with relevant community agencies to promote the well-being of older adults with age-related mental health issues.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely clinical and statistical documentation, and prepare written reports as required.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or a relevant health-related discipline.
  • One year's recent, related experience working with geriatric psychiatry clients in a recognized psychiatric and/or community mental health setting.
  • Eligible for registration with a relevant professional association.
  • Valid Class V BC Driver's Licence and possession of a personal vehicle.
