Job Summary
The Resident Attendant is a key member of the University of Waterloo's Residence Facilities team, responsible for providing exceptional service and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety in student residential environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe living environment for students.
- Respond to and resolve facilities-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the Residence Facilities team to prioritize and manage cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and management to ensure a positive and supportive living environment.
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in cleaning and maintenance, customer service, and safety protocols.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives to improve student satisfaction and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and teams to ensure a seamless and supportive experience for students.
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education or experience in a related field is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of organizational skill and problem-solving ability.
- Physical ability to perform duties that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
