About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at BC Drywall Installations Ltd. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality drywall installations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to meet project specifications
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure a stable structure
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a seamless finish
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a strong bond
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs to support drywall panels
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to understand project requirements
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling to access and install drywall panels
  • Handling heavy loads to move and position drywall sheets
  • Physically demanding work to meet project deadlines
  • Standing for extended periods to complete tasks
Weight Handling
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) of drywall sheets and materials
