We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, preparing patients for examination, and operating nuclear medicine equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with departmental policies
- Prepare patients for examination, including preparing radiopharmaceuticals and administering them as required
- Operate nuclear medicine equipment, including cameras and scanners
- Monitor patients during procedures and ensure their safety and comfort
- Perform routine quality control tests on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor the area for radiation levels and dispose of radioactive substances and contaminated items according to established guidelines
- Successful completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Current certification with CAMRT and eligible for membership with CAMRT and CAMRT-BC
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data to make informed decisions
- Ability to promote client-focused care and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care
