Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Clerk to join our team at Safeway Downtown Kelowna. As a Deli Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and experience the freshest hot and ready-to-eat meals available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold food, including sandwiches, salads, soups, and specialty trays
  • Operate cash register and process payments, handling cash, credit card, and debit transactions
  • Offer product samples to customers and provide recommendations on products
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
