Meat Department Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Assistant to join our team at Safeway. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with meat cutting and preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns in a polite and friendly manner
- Assist with meat cutting and preparation, using knives and saws to cut and trim meat products
- Stock and maintain meat products on shelves, ensuring a visually appealing display
- Participate in receiving and rotating product, ensuring freshness and quality
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing of work area, maintaining a safe and healthy environment
Requirements:
- Previous retail experience, preferably in a meat cutting or sales role
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods
