Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a reliable and motivated individual for the role of Environmental Services II, focusing on cleaning and housekeeping duties within a healthcare setting. AHS is committed to providing comprehensive training to ensure safe and effective cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, clinical areas, office spaces, and other communal staff/public zones in alignment with established AHS standards and protocols.
Position Overview:
As an Environmental II, your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks related to intensive or specialized cleaning within a hospital or facility, utilizing industrial-grade cleaning supplies and powered equipment. Typical duties may involve operating advanced cleaning machinery for floor maintenance, performing thorough washing of ceilings and windows, and managing hazardous waste disposal. Additionally, you may be tasked with providing training and orientation to fellow Environmental staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent education.
- Proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements throughout your shift.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling weights up to 30 lbs.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, with the capacity to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Basic knowledge of computer and smartphone operations.
- Dependability and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cleaning roles is preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare cleaning environment would be advantageous.
