About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at Highlight Motor Freight Inc. as an Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our cleaning department, ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire and Train Staff: Recruit, train, and develop a team of cleaning staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities: Oversee the daily activities of the cleaning staff, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Inspect Sites and Facilities: Conduct regular inspections of our facilities to ensure that they meet our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Prepare Budgets and Cost Estimates: Develop and manage budgets for cleaning supplies and services, ensuring that costs are minimized and value for money is achieved.
  • Recommend Additional Services: Identify areas where additional services may be required, such as painting or repairs, and recommend these to management.
  • Maintain Financial Records: Ensure that all financial records related to the cleaning department are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist Cleaners: Provide support and guidance to cleaning staff as needed, ensuring that they have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Coordinate Work Activities: Work closely with other departments to ensure that cleaning activities are coordinated and aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish Work Schedules: Develop and manage work schedules for the cleaning staff, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
About You

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
  • Work Environment: At heights, confined spaces, wet/damp, noisy, odours, dusty, cold/refrigerated
  • Work Setting: Office building
  • Tasks: Hire and train or arrange for training of cleaning staff, supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers, inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards, prepare budget and cost estimates, recommend or arrange for additional services required, maintain financial records, assist cleaners in performing duties, co-ordinate work activities with other departments, establish work schedules
  • Supervision: 1 to 2 people
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads
