Job Summary:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Rimbey Long Term Care. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses to provide high-quality patient and family centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe and effective care to clients with complex needs, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to address client needs.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of care planning and tracking tools, including InterRai LTCF and Netcare.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in conflict management and nonviolent crisis intervention.
