Job Summary

The School District #62 (Sooke) is seeking a qualified Supervision Assistant to provide a well-organized and supervised school environment for students during non-instructional time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing a safe and supportive environment for students during non-instructional time.
  • Dispense first aid and tend to children in the sick room.
  • Responsible for lunch, snack, and clean-up routines.
  • May assist children with clothing and dressing as required.
  • Perform related work as required, such as bus loading and unloading.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • Three months of experience and over.
  • Patience with, and care for, students and a demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
  • Ability to follow school district policy and procedures.
  • Ability to work well with other adults.
  • Self-assurance and a well-modulated voice with the ability to speak fluently and communicate well.
  • Appreciation of the confidential nature of all information relating to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Holder of a valid Occupational First Aid - Level One Certificate.
Terms of Employment
  • Ten months.
  • Hours may vary but work is required only when students are at school.
Rate of Pay

As per the Collective Agreement.
