About the Position:

Overview:

Remitly is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Customer Success engineering team. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for driving the technical strategy and direction of our Customer Success platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the engineering team, ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects and initiatives.
  2. Product Development: Collaborate with product managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks, ensuring the engineering team delivers the expected outcome.
  3. Team Management: Set a high bar for planning and execution, including quarterly goals, resource allocation, and prioritization. Manage the system of work of one product team with a DevOps mindset.
  4. Cultural Leadership: Be a role model in upholding Remitly's cultural values and use them as a framework to mentor other engineers across the company to achieve their full potential.
  5. Technical Decision Making: Make appropriate trade-offs between schedule, features, and help the team make sound technical decisions.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.
  2. Experience: 8+ years of experience, including 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  3. Skills: Experience leading core engineering efforts, technical teams, and building diverse, empowered teams. Experience defining and influencing technical designs and processes across a team. An understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms. Familiarity with technologies used in the project (one or more): Java, JavaScript, Go, TypeScript, React, and Kotlin.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting base salary range for this position is $136,000-$180,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company, and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
