About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Solutions Architect to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our architecture team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing highly distributed global systems, leveraging industry best practices to ensure quality security and compliance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement complex software components and applications, generating technical specifications to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand organizational structure, policies, and operations, recommending technical and business solutions to achieve goals.
  • Develop and maintain architectural patterns to improve assessment teams' processes and develop their skills.
  • Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Implement a trusted governance model, automating architecture assessments based on enterprise standards and policies.
  • Drive the implementation of trusted policies and standards with internal teams, deploying a technology solution to support the trusted governance framework.
  • Challenge the solution architects' way of thinking, implementing architectural design principles to improve security, resiliency, and technology footprint.
  • Inform stakeholders about issues with current technical solutions, creating designs and reference architectures for enterprise systems.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of software engineering industry experience, with a focus on network infrastructure, security, data, or application development.
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global systems.
  • Knowledge of structured architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
  • Proven work experience as a Solution Architect or similar role, with previous project management experience an asset.
  • In-depth understanding of coding languages and logic structures, as well as sound knowledge of various operating systems, databases, and technologies.
