Your Opportunity:

This role is designed to support the transition to Recovery Alberta, where you will play a vital part in the mental health care system. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to therapeutic programming in an inpatient or day treatment setting.

Position Overview:

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Assistant (MHRA) collaborates with healthcare professionals to facilitate therapeutic activities for children and adolescents within a mental health care environment. Under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Family Counselors, the MHRA aids in the execution of tailored individual and group program plans. A solid understanding of child and adolescent development, along with effective therapeutic strategies, is crucial for delivering high-quality patient care. This particular MHRA role focuses on providing therapeutic assistance to patients who may be experiencing challenges in the Emergency Department or are temporarily placed in medical units.

Required Qualifications:

A diploma in Social Work or Child and Youth Care, or a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology is essential.

Additional Required Qualifications:

As necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Attachment Theory, Trauma-Informed Care principles, and Collaborative Problem Solving techniques. Completion of the Brain Story is advantageous.
