Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Utilize and operate technical support systems to ensure efficient food service operations.
  • Patient Service and Food Preparation: Perform activities related to patient service and food preparation, including meal delivery and catering services.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary food services area, including daily cleaning and sanitation of equipment and facilities.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure seamless food service operations and provide excellent patient care.
  • Continuing Education: Participate in relevant continuing education sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate equipment in a food service environment, including ware washing and small wares equipment.
  • Food Safety and Handling: Ensure the safe handling of food to deliver a quality product to patients.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible and rotate activities within the food service area as scheduled.
Qualifications:
  • Food Handlers Certificate: Current Food Handlers Certificate is required.
  • Education: Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Food Service Experience: Food service experience or completion of a Food Service Worker certificate is an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform heavy lifting, repetitive motions, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Initiative and Independence: Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently or as a team in a flexible manner.
  • Attendance and Work Ethic: Excellent attendance record and work ethic are required.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of computer software programs is an asset.
  • Confidentiality and Privacy: Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to privacy and confidentiality is essential.

Other Pertinent Conditions:

  • Availability: Must be available to work all shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • Salary: Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($27.34 per hour to $28.02 per hour).
