About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Animal Care Worker to join our team at Lakeland Animal Care Group. As an Animal Care Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathing and Grooming: Bathe and shampoo animals to keep them clean and comfortable.
  • Food and Nutrition: Prepare and serve food and feed animals according to their dietary needs.
  • Cleaning and Disinfection: Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of animals treated, including their medical history and treatment plans.
  • Animal Handling: Handle animals with care and attention, including cleaning their ears and clipping their nails.
  • Dental Care: Perform dental cleaning on domestic animals to maintain their oral health.
Work Environment

As an Animal Care Worker, you will work in a fast-paced animal hospital or veterinary clinic environment. You will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a team environment.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in animal care or a related field.
  • Personal Qualities: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a team player attitude.
