Junior Geotechnical Engineer

GeoSolv Design/Build Inc. stands as Ontario's premier geotechnical design-build contractor, specializing in comprehensive solutions for soil-related challenges. We assist our clients in discovering design-build strategies that help them evade expensive deep foundations or unnecessary excavation and replacement when confronted with complex soil conditions on their development initiatives.

As a valued member of the GeoSolv team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with our Engineering Team to support engineering analyses and designs focused on ground improvement. Skills in geo-structural analysis are advantageous.
  • Assisting in the coordination of design calculations, report writing, technical memoranda, and the completion of shop drawings and design submissions.
  • Providing quantity information to assist the Engineering team in estimating project costs.
  • Reviewing project documents, specifications, and drawings to prepare feasibility reports, proposals, and quotes that bolster our sales efforts.
  • Participating in meetings with structural and geotechnical engineers, as well as contractors and developers, to aid in project pursuits.
  • Offering technical insights and collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Engaging in Quality Control and site work as necessary, including testing and monitoring the progress of site-related tasks.
  • Conducting Quality Control either on-site or from the office.
  • Representing GeoSolv professionally in all settings.
  • Maintaining adaptability and versatility in your duties.
  • Traveling to various sites or offices as required.
  • Organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Complying with GeoSolv's Health and Safety Policy and undertaking volunteer Health & Safety responsibilities when requested.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a College diploma or University degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training designation in the Province of Ontario.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors around heavy construction machinery in diverse weather conditions.
  • Mechanical aptitude is beneficial.
  • Possession of a valid G driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel and work on sites across Ontario.
