Sheet Metal Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our team at Ontario Inc. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal
  • Utilize computerized quantity take-off to ensure accurate material usage
  • Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand
  • Assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment
  • Fabricate and install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
Work Environment:

Our fabrication shop is a fast-paced environment with a physically demanding workload. You will be required to work in a noisy and dusty environment, handling heavy loads and working to tight deadlines.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication
  • Equivalent experience in a related field
