About Our Opportunity

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board as a Board Member. As a member of this independent quasi-judicial body, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the Board's mandates are carried out in a fair and impartial manner.

The Board is responsible for regulating and appealing various aspects of the energy and utility sectors in Nova Scotia, including water utilities, property assessment appeals, auto insurance rates, and planning appeals. As a Board Member, you will be responsible for chairing and participating in quasi-judicial public hearings, making decisions on complex matters, and ensuring that the Board's decisions are transparent and accountable.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in engineering, with significant experience in the field. You must also be registered as a Full Member (P.Eng) with Engineers Nova Scotia (ENS). In addition, you will need to have excellent decision-making skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
