Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management Audit, Hybrid

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President for our Enterprise Risk Management Audit team to spearhead audit projects centered on Financial Risk domains. The Enterprise Risk Management function offers independent oversight of risk associated with business operations. The Financial Risks encompass Market, Credit (including Trading Credit), and Liquidity aspects. In this position, under the guidance of senior audit leadership, you will manage specific audit projects and direct assigned teams through all phases of the audit process, including planning, assessments, testing, and reporting. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in the continuous development of audit personnel and support various departmental initiatives.

This position allows for a hybrid work model, enabling you to balance remote work and office presence according to your needs and role requirements.

Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Vice President in Enterprise Risk Management Audit, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, overseeing, and executing audits in accordance with the Division's risk-based audit methodology and internal standards.
  • Supervising and directing the execution of risk and control assessments, ensuring effective testing of key controls.
  • Reviewing audit documentation to confirm compliance with internal standards and ensuring conclusions are well-supported.
  • Drafting audit reports that effectively communicate overall findings, including key risks, identified issues, root causes, and their impact on business strategy.
  • Collaborating with business area management to set expectations and address any project challenges that may arise during the audit.
  • Timely escalation of potential and identified issues to senior management, working with business management to develop and negotiate solutions.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of assigned responsibilities, including key technologies, products, organizational activities, regulatory frameworks, and global presence.
  • Establishing and nurturing strong client relationships with business management across various defense lines, assisting in the understanding and implementation of internal control principles.
  • Contributing to change initiatives through active participation in working groups and the adoption of best practices in daily responsibilities.
  • Coaching and mentoring audit staff as part of their ongoing professional development.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial risks, particularly Liquidity, Market, and Credit risks.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize business process understanding into valuable feedback on risk and control environments.
  • Proven capability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Market/Credit/Liquidity risks within the first or second line.
  • Background in Public Accounting or Internal Auditing.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or certification (CFA, FRM, CPA) is preferred.
  • Experience in executing or auditing Financial Risk.
  • Familiarity with auditing information technology general controls.

Additional Information
While the majority of your work will be conducted from your primary location, some domestic and international travel may be necessary to various locations where the organization operates.
