Position Summary
BGIS is focused on protecting vital environments through sophisticated electronic security systems, PLC integration, and building automation. We are in search of a meticulous and highly skilled Electronic Security Technician with a robust background in PLC and building automation. The successful candidate will have a solid technical foundation and the capability to excel in a dynamic, high-pressure setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, Integration, Maintenance, and Repair
  • Oversee the installation, upkeep, and repair of electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems.
  • Integrate PLC systems into security frameworks to enhance control and automation.
  • Configure and maintain building automation systems to improve security and energy efficiency.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on security apparatus, PLC systems, and building automation components.
  • Quickly troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions across all integrated systems.
  • Respond to security alarms and incidents in accordance with established protocols.

Communication and Documentation

  • Collaborate with security personnel, IT, and engineering teams to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and optimize systems.
  • Maintain precise and current documentation of system configurations, maintenance logs, and incident reports.

Industry Knowledge and Best Practices

  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in electronic security, PLC, and building automation technologies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience as an Electronic Security Technician in critical environments with a solid foundation in PLC and building automation.
  • Thorough understanding of electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems.
  • Proficient in PLC programming and its integration with security systems.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems and their interaction with security frameworks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across various systems.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Possess relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, Security+, PLC certifications, building automation certifications).
