Your Role:

As a vital member of the HR Business Support Services team, you will report directly to the Manager and act as a crucial link between the AHS Human Resource Department, AHS HR Shared Services, and AHS IT. This position focuses on providing system support and analytical expertise to optimize technology solutions that cater to the requirements of HR Shared Services, AHS HR, and all users of Alberta Health Services' human resource management systems, including PeopleSoft, Recruitment Management System, and eRecords.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define and assess the technical and functional requirements of applications, leveraging hands-on experience as a PeopleSoft Business Analyst for HR administration and Manager/Employee Self Service.
  2. Analyze the impact on various modules such as Position Management, Benefits Administration, Payroll, Pension, Payroll Accounting, Self Service, and Time and Labor.
  3. Develop necessary queries and reports to fulfill outlined requirements.
  4. Oversee projects from design through implementation, managing multiple system enhancements and configuration requests.
  5. Identify, track, and communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances, and contingencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Assist in assessing the needs of various business functions and provide recommendations for process enhancements.
  7. Prepare, develop, and implement comprehensive functional system design specifications, test plans, and user documentation to ensure functional and technical accuracy.
  8. Troubleshoot potential system issues and provide input into proposals and solutions for various PeopleSoft modules.

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in:

  • Conducting business requirements analysis.
  • Applying analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Developing impact analyses and functional strategies.
  • Creating test strategies and executing test phases.
  • Assessing organizational and application readiness for implementation.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Publisher, Word, and Visio.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Leadership capabilities and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with project upgrades and working within a large, complex, and unionized HR/Payroll processing environment is advantageous.
