Employment Details:
Permanent position, Full-time (35 to 40 hours/week)

Employment Groups:
Students, Youth, Indigenous individuals, Newcomers to Canada

Qualifications:
Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years, or equivalent experience.

Experience Required:
3 to 5 years in the field.

Work Environment:
Wet/damp conditions, Odors present, Non-smoking area.

Work Setting:
Urban location, Relocation expenses covered by the employer, Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Consult with clients regarding beauty care treatments.
  2. Assess hair and scalp conditions.
  3. Deliver personalized hair and scalp treatments.
  4. Shampoo and cleanse clients' hair.
  5. Apply coloring agents such as bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses.
  6. Maintain and style wigs and hairpieces.
  7. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
  8. Recommend hairstyles that complement clients' features and preferences.
  9. Perform receptionist duties as needed.
  10. Manage inventory and order supplies.

Specialized Skills:
Expertise in blow drying and iron waving/curling.

Transportation:
Public transportation options are available.

Work Conditions:
Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity required, Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination, Combination of sitting, standing, and walking, Ability to stand for extended periods.
