Your Opportunity:

Join Alberta Health Services as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role is integral to providing comprehensive and holistic care to patients, families, and the community. As a member of our healthcare team, you will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality nursing services across various departments, including Emergency and Obstetrical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and support in fostering an integrated approach to patient care.
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain nursing competencies.
  • Act as a mentor and preceptor for nursing students and new staff.

Position Highlights:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in both the Emergency Department and the Obstetrical Department, providing care throughout the antenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum phases. Additional benefits include complimentary parking and eligibility for the Rural Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active registration or eligibility for a practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Emergency nursing experience exceeding 6 months and/or Obstetrical experience exceeding 9 months.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with nursing duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Rural Acute Care and/or Rural Emergency settings.
  • Certifications in TNCC, ENPC, PALS, CTAS, and Fetal Health Surveillance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
