Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Child Care Services: Develop, license, and monitor child care services to ensure high-quality care for children in Saskatchewan.
- Support Parents and Caregivers: Provide support and guidance to parents and caregivers to help them navigate the child care system and make informed decisions about their child's care.
- Collaborate with Community Groups: Work with community groups and individuals to identify and meet their child care needs, and provide information and resources to support their efforts.
- Ensure Public Awareness: Develop and implement strategies to ensure that information about early childhood care and education is available to the public.
- Enforce Child Care Regulations: Enforce The Child Care Act and The Child Care Regulations to ensure compliance and maintain high standards of care.
- Strong Communication Skills: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of people, including parents, caregivers, community groups, and government officials.
- Mediation and Negotiation Skills: Effectively mediate and negotiate solutions with various stakeholder groups in a diplomatic manner.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Identify needs and issues, and determine an appropriate course of action to address concerns.
- Independent Planning and Prioritization: Independently plan and prioritize responsibilities to achieve work objectives.
- Experience in Child Care: Experience as the Director of a child care centre or in a related role.
- Education and Training: Formal education in early childhood care, child development, and education programming.
- Knowledge of Non-Profit Organizations: Knowledge of the administration of non-profit organizations and an understanding of board dynamics.
