We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced researcher to join our faculty as a Professor in Nucleic Acid Based Nanomedicine. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and engineering, with a focus on developing innovative nanomedicines for the treatment of various diseases.
Job Summary:The University of British Columbia is seeking a talented researcher to join our faculty as a Professor in Nucleic Acid Based Nanomedicine. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and engineering, with a focus on developing innovative nanomedicines for the treatment of various diseases. The candidate will be expected to establish a research program that merges principles and techniques of biochemistry/molecular biology and engineering at the forefront of nanomedicines and cellular therapeutics.
Responsibilities:- Establish a research program that focuses on developing innovative nanomedicines for the treatment of various diseases.
- Conduct research in the areas of nucleic acid-based nanomedicines, including mRNA or other RNA-based medicines, genome editing approaches, and delivery technologies.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate students in the Departments of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Chemical & Biological Engineering.
- Collaborate with other researchers across the University's Vancouver and Okanagan campuses to foster interdisciplinary innovation.
- Participate in the affairs of the Department and the University.
- Ph.D. in chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or a related field.
- Experience in developing innovative nanomedicines for the treatment of various diseases.
- Strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and engineering.
- Ability to establish a research program that merges principles and techniques of biochemistry/molecular biology and engineering at the forefront of nanomedicines and cellular therapeutics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
