As a key member of our educational community, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering curriculum-related instruction to multiple elementary classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social-emotional growth and academic success.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement various assessment techniques to measure student progress and inform instruction.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and students to foster a sense of community and promote student success.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in elementary education and participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor of Education with a focus on elementary education.
  • Experience: Proven experience in teaching elementary education, with a strong understanding of BC's revised curriculum and social-emotional learning practices.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and organize instructional activities.
  • Attributes: A demonstrated commitment to equity, reconciliation, and inclusion, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training in Trauma-Informed Practices: Experience with Complex Trauma Resources and other relevant training programs.
  • Positive Behaviour Support: Experience with positive behaviour support and a willingness to support school-wide initiatives.
