About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary Allied Health team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with communication and/or swallowing problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct intervention for inpatients/outpatients/residents with communication and/or swallowing problems.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy programs using appropriate assessment instruments.
  • Maintain effective communication with all staff and work collaboratively with the treatment team to identify treatment goals.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues within the department to ensure quality patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and staff regarding communication and swallowing deficits.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain current knowledge base through interaction with other members of the Communication Disorders department.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to provide supervision and teaching to students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
