Job Summary

The BMO Global Equity team is seeking a highly skilled Global Sector Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for performing qualitative and financial analysis on companies within the consumer discretionary and staples sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the consumer discretionary and staples sectors, including industry trends, company performance, and market dynamics.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis and modeling to identify investment opportunities and provide recommendations to portfolio managers.
  • Collaborate with other analysts to develop a comprehensive understanding of the sectors and identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Pitch timely and actionable investment recommendations and sector ideas to portfolio managers.
  • Develop and publish reports that include in-depth research and analysis, and present findings with conviction.
  • Communicate complex ideas and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in the investment management industry, with a focus on fundamental analysis.
  • Progress toward CFA charter preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and independently.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and findings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
