Job Title: Security Specialist

Securiguard is seeking dedicated and experienced individuals to join our Loss Prevention Team. As a Security Specialist, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our retail client's assets and minimizing losses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine surveillance to identify and prevent theft, fraud, or other security breaches.
  • Interact with customers and employees to deter potential incidents while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Investigate suspicious activities, review CCTV footage, and collaborate with law enforcement when necessary.
  • Craft detailed incident reports.
  • Enforce security protocols, de-escalate conflicts, and make lawful arrests when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Valid Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR
  • At least 1 year of security experience in a high-profile customer-focused environment such as retail, government, or healthcare.
  • Ability to work at different sites across the Toronto & Greater Toronto Area.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.
  • Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code, and 494(c)
  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to conduct arrests in appropriate and sanctioned situations.
  • Military/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset.
  • Strong observational skills and situational awareness
  • Punctuality
  • Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours.

  • Training:
    • Completion of Use of Force Training and Lawful Subject Restraint, and Crisis Management training are requirements for this role.
    • The training is provided to new employees for this role along with Securiguard University Orientations courses for skill development.
