Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Aide to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide personal care and support to our residents, working closely with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal assistance with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs
  • Support patients with short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide a continuum of care in home, community, or healthcare facilities
  • Assist nurses with the provision of routine care, including observing and reporting on patient mood, health, and wellbeing
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory
  • Ongoing education to meet the CCHSS standards and AHS qualifications is mandatory
  • Excellent attendance record and ability to work shift work and weekends
  • PC computer and experience in the use of Microsoft programs
