Mechanical Maintenance Team Lead

ARBEC BOIS D'OEUVRE INC, a manufacturing subsidiary of Groupe-Rémabec, seeks a dedicated individual to fill the position of Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Superintendent and collaborating closely with the Production Superintendent and Maintenance Planner, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all maintenance activities within their team while ensuring seamless production operations.

This role involves managing a team of mechanics and electricians by implementing continuous improvement best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce safety regulations among all employees and actively participate in their implementation;
  • Promote safe behaviors and proactively engage with employees by setting a positive example;
  • Ensure uninterrupted service to meet production requirements;
  • Prioritize tasks and schedule repairs during downtime periods;
  • Efficiently utilize labor, raw materials, and equipment during floor walks or any field presence;
  • Act as the first responder to equipment breakdowns;
  • Propose and advocate for projects that demonstrate a clear return on investment.
Human Resources Management:
  • Understand and adhere to the collective agreement;
  • Fulfill labor requirements;
  • Oversee maintenance staff training and provide necessary recommendations;
  • Motivate and demonstrate leadership to employees by clearly communicating management expectations and seeking their commitment;
  • Maintain fairness and healthy working relationships with colleagues and staff.
