Carleton University is seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for ensuring the visual appearance of our campus is maintained by painting walls, equipment, and other structural surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:- Paint walls, equipment, and other structural surfaces to maintain the visual appearance of the campus.
- Ensure that all painting and maintenance work is done in accordance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Work with limited supervision to perform painting-related duties in all areas of the campus.
- Operate and maintain related tools and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and maintain effective working relationships.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in painting and maintenance.
- Completion of the Painter and Decorator Trade regulated by the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in painting and maintenance, including an apprenticeship-training program.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to work at heights using aerial devices and elevated work platforms.
