Veolia is seeking an electromechanical maintenance specialist to oversee the upkeep, diagnostics, repair, refurbishment, inspection, adjustments, and enhancements of electromechanical systems within the facility. The focus will be on production machinery, machine tools, handling apparatus, and other electromechanical industrial systems present on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on all electromechanical systems in the facility, including industrial building systems, production machinery, machine tools, handling devices, and any equipment utilized in biogas production, water treatment, and odor management;
  • Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and testing of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic components and systems;
  • Install, configure, and commission machinery such as motors, pumps, compressors, conveyor systems, and programmable logic controllers;
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and measurements using control and analysis tools;
  • Enhance and extend the reliability, performance, and lifespan of industrial machinery;
  • Maximize equipment operational availability while ensuring optimal long-term productivity and quality standards;
  • Carry out routine inspections and maintenance, replacing components and executing necessary repairs promptly to minimize production interruptions;
  • Engage in corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) 'Maximo';
  • Interpret technical diagrams and schematics from initial setup to verification of optimal equipment functionality;
  • Study and assimilate technical manuals to establish and refine stringent procedures for equipment commissioning and maintenance;
  • Contribute to the review, enhancement, or documentation of procedures, plans, and work instructions related to responsibilities;
  • Utilize lifting or handling equipment to maneuver machinery and components on-site;
  • Exhibit versatility and a strong interest in both electromechanical systems and overall plant operations, integrating comprehensive mechanical skills with a solid understanding of biogas production, water treatment, and odor management processes;
  • Prepare logbooks (daily, weekly, and monthly reports), along with incident reports as required;
  • Supervise, coordinate, and monitor subcontractors working in areas under your jurisdiction, ensuring they receive support, guidance, and that their work quality meets current standards;
  • Document interventions by subcontractors and external contractors in the Maximo CMMS;
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work atmosphere;
  • Actively engage in quality, health, safety, and environmental initiatives, participate in plant audits, and promote related activities and controls;
  • Adhere to site and corporate policies, instructions, and procedures regarding quality, health, safety, and environmental standards;
  • Perform any other relevant tasks necessary for the effective operation of mechanical systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess a Professional Studies Diploma (DEP) in Automated Systems Electromechanics or equivalent training in electromechanics, industrial electricity, or a related field;
  • Hold a Journeyman Certificate in construction or non-construction as an electrician or electromechanic issued by Emploi-Québec or the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) (mandatory);
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in industrial facility maintenance, preferably in biogas production, petrochemistry, or water and/or wastewater treatment (asset);
  • Appropriate physical condition for the tasks and activities to be performed;
  • Possess the certificate issued by the Paritarian Association for Health and Safety at Work in the Construction Sector (ASP Construction) (asset);
  • Must have Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a work permit issued by the relevant federal authority to work in Quebec;
  • Experience in welding, assembly, disassembly, and handling of heavy machinery;
  • Strong interest and capability in problem-solving and troubleshooting;
  • Tolerance for visual elements and odors;
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and architectural drawings;
  • Analytical skills and ability to exploit technical data;
  • Interest in teamwork and commitment to compliance with standards;
  • Demonstrate willingness to collaborate and take on responsibilities;
  • Exhibit a high level of proactivity;
  • Interest in working for a company dedicated to sustainable development in its daily operations;
  • Strong aptitude for analyzing technical issues and devising solutions.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time permanent position with a standard day shift schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening work may be necessary based on operational requirements. The successful candidate must be adaptable and available during peak production periods and capable of working under occasional pressure.
