Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Engineer to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our Burlington Bridge Team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in the design and delivery of transportation projects, including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex and standard bridge projects
  • Conduct conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of bridges, culverts, and other civil structures
  • Perform bridge inspections, assessments, and rehabilitation design
  • Provide independent review and quality assurance of designs and drawings
  • Prepare specifications and contract documents
  • Review shop drawings and provide field technical support for bridge construction
  • Lead and mentor a team of technical staff delivering bridge and other transportation projects
Requirements
  • University degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with a specialization in bridge structures
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering and project management capacity on detailed design assignments for bridges
  • Superior technical understanding, design abilities, and current knowledge of bridge technologies
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software used in bridge design
  • Thorough knowledge of current design codes and standards
  • Experience with field review and inspection during construction
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to build well-developed teams and positive relationships
