Position Overview:

The Aerospace Maintenance Supervisor (AMS) is responsible for executing elementary, servicing, and maintenance tasks in support of the Main Operating Base (MOB).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the activities of team members, including task allocation. Lead the crew in all aspects of aircraft maintenance.
  • Contribute to crew shift planning, aircraft maintenance timelines, and the selection of aircraft for operations, including overtime assignments.
  • Conduct First, Second, and Third Level maintenance on aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical systems and components. This encompasses servicing, inspecting, removing, cleaning, repairing, installing, adjusting, testing, and certifying aircraft systems and ground support equipment.
  • Execute aircraft release (ARA) when qualified and authorized.
  • Perform ramp duties, including pre/post flight inspections, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and managing mission equipment installations/removals, as well as emergency technical responses.
  • Conduct ground runs of engines and auxiliary power units, where trained and authorized.
  • Participate in flights as necessary to support maintenance, ferry, and deployed operations.
  • Deploy and work at various main operating bases or remote sites as required.
  • Adapt to shift work as assigned.
  • Provide on-the-job training to team members.
  • Engage in training for professional development and certification purposes.
  • Ensure all team members complete required training.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and conducting foreign object debris (FOD) inspections.
  • Ensure cleanliness in hangar, shop, storage, and office areas.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and directives.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental systems, basic structures, avionics, and power generation/distribution.
  • Familiarity with Flight Safety reporting protocols.
  • Understanding of the Company Quality Systems procedures.
  • Knowledge of corrosion control methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Procedures.
  • Capability to perform Non-destructive Inspection, where trained and authorized.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications and any specialized software necessary for the role.
  • Valid driver's license to operate company vehicles and tow tractors.
  • Completion of a CH149 type maintenance course.
  • Graduation from a recognized aircraft maintenance program or apprenticeship, holding a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license or equivalent military experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of helicopter maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Eligibility to meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements and obtain Secret Level II Security Clearance.
