Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of electrical equipment and systems
  • Repair and installation of electrical equipment and systems
  • Maintenance of life safety equipment
  • Consultation and direction on electrical work being performed by outside contractors
  • Participation in safety training and meetings
Requirements
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must possess a journeyperson electrician's licence
  • Must possess and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Drivers Licence with the ability to travel throughout the District
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including sitting, lifting, reaching, working at heights and in confined spaces
Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary education, training and/or certificate in trades
  • Experience operating and maintaining electrical systems in a large commercial, industrial and/or institutional facility
  • Experience working with Manitoba electrical legislated codes and regulations
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, Workplace Safety and Health Act, and safe work procedures
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Building Automated Systems (BAS) or Direct Digital Control (DDC) controlled mechanical systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with tight timelines
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and the general public
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Similar Software Applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Canadian Fire Alarm Association Certificate
