About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Manager to oversee our supply chain activities, ensuring the effective and economical transportation of goods from Asia and Europe to North America. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Supplier Development and will involve both strategic and tactical leadership to enhance supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute supply chain strategies aimed at achieving excellence in performance, cost management, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Streamline supply chain processes across various departments and external partners.
  • Facilitate rapid market expansion by implementing best-in-class customer service and inventory management practices.
  • Negotiate long-term freight agreements with carriers and brokers.
  • Evaluate spot market versus contract rates to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
  • Supervise the selection, negotiation, and management of service providers.
  • Guide and mentor a team of supply chain coordinators to ensure timely and budget-compliant shipments.
  • Provide training and support to team members located in international offices.
  • Conduct monthly analyses of spending related to imported containers.
  • Identify strategies to reduce inbound freight costs, including last-minute bookings and short-term contracts.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate payment of freight and customs invoices.

Coordination and Compliance:

  • Facilitate seamless product flow by coordinating with manufacturers, freight, and drayage companies.
  • Manage global trade compliance initiatives and customs activities.
  • Advise senior management on global trade compliance requirements.
  • Lead projects aimed at enhancing reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness within the vendor network.
  • Expand our network of third-party service providers.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational costs.
  • Prepare weekly operational status and cost reports, including variance analysis.
  • Communicate performance metrics, strategies, and actions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate accruals for freight and duties and provide explanations for any discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, particularly in international logistics.
  • Strong analytical and modeling capabilities, with proficiency in utilizing computerized systems and dashboards for efficiency measurement and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing global teams, especially with teams based in Asia.
  • Proven success in leading a robust Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process that enhances fill rates, productivity, and revenue growth.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Experience in distribution with a focus on high SKU complexity and consumable products.
  • Familiarity with customs compliance, customs brokerage, global standards, and freight forwarding.
