On behalf of T-Net British Columbia, a recognized leader in the technology sector, we are looking for a dedicated Payroll Specialist.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that all payroll activities are executed accurately and punctually on a biweekly basis. Utilizing employee time records, vacation balances, and various inputs, you will manage the payroll cycle and provide payroll-related information to staff members. Additionally, you will oversee our benefits programs and assist in managing workers' compensation claims across Canada and the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer bi-weekly payroll for employees in Canada and the US.
  • Create and maintain timely payroll registers in Excel for review and approval.
  • Collect and input new employee information into Ceridian, benefits platforms, and time tracking systems.
  • Handle terminations and Records of Employment (ROE) while being aware of the varying rules and timelines across jurisdictions.
  • Process weekly meal penalty reports and address discrepancies in time cards with Field Service managers.
  • Adjust timesheets as per supervisor requests.
  • Import timesheet data into Ceridian for US payroll.
  • Manually enter timesheet records into Ceridian for Canadian payroll.
  • Facilitate secondary payments for commissions, expenses, and bonuses as required.
  • Upload 401k and RRSP contributions in the benefits portal.
  • Input employer matching contributions for 401k and RRSP in Ceridian according to company policies.
  • Generate monthly Health Benefits reports for coding purposes.
  • Act as the primary contact for employee benefit enrollment setup and modifications, liaising with providers as necessary.
  • Complete requests for unemployment, earnings verification, and disability as needed.
  • Manage changes to employee information in Ceridian (e.g., address, withholding).
  • Provide payroll data for company inquiries across various jurisdictions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience in Canada or the USA.
  • Familiarity with bi-weekly payroll submission timelines.
  • Experience with data entry across multiple systems, including benefits, time tracking, and payroll.
  • Proficient in using Ceridian Canada and US (Powerpay, Redwood).
  • Ability to prepare payroll-related accounting entries for financial systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in benefits administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with T-Sheets, Synerion, or similar timekeeping software.
  • Knowledge of processing workers' compensation claims.
  • Familiarity with US payroll regulations.
