Job Title: Custodial Services Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Services Assistant to join our team at the Greater Essex County District School Board. As a Custodial Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in schools and facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Operate equipment and machinery, such as vacuum cleaners and floor polishers, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with special events and projects, such as cleaning up after events and preparing facilities for renovations.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • An Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
  • Previous cleaning experience within a school or commercial building (asset).
  • Ability to operate equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • A satisfactory Police Clearance.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive, anti-racist environment for all stakeholders, and to supporting diverse constituencies and populations.
