Yard Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Yard Coordinator at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment yard, including loading and unloading equipment, performing pre-delivery inspections, and maintaining accurate delivery and pickup records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload equipment safely and securely, adhering to company procedures and inspecting equipment in transit as needed.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records, obtaining signature authorization as required.
  • Communicate any difficulties or delays with deliveries or pickups to the branch team.
  • Identify and advise management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
  • Verify delivered items to ensure order accuracy.
  • Provide instruction to customers on equipment operation.
  • Tag and move broken equipment to the repair area.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, as well as organize the yard and maintain clean physical facilities.
Requirements:
  • Valid G Driver's license with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than three demerit points).
  • Familiarity with local roads.
  • Self-starter with excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Comfortable with computers and able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
