We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a Clinical Nutrition Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing expert nutrition care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Nutrition Screening and Assessment: Utilize your expertise to assess the nutritional needs of diverse patient demographics and develop personalized care plans.
- Care Plan Efficacy: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition care plans and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Professional Discretion: Employ your professional judgment to modify and implement guidelines, protocols, and care standards in response to evolving patient requirements.
- Staying Current: Analyze emerging trends and advancements in dietary methodologies and explore their suitability for integration into our clinical nutrition regimen.
- Education and Training: Serve as an educator by designing, delivering, and/or engaging in training sessions and in-service educational initiatives.
- Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition program with completion of an accredited dietetic internship program.
- Registration: Registered and in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
- Professional Membership: Member of Dietitians of Canada (an asset).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a Special Care Nursery and Pediatrics and medicine within the adult population.
- Specialized Experience: Experience with neonatal parenteral nutrition support and Pasteurized Donor Milk Program.
- Required Skills: Experience with Enteral and Parenteral nutrition support, broad-based understanding of clinical nutrition needs across diverse patient populations, excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Additional Requirements: Possesses outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities, ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changes in patient care and the evolving healthcare landscape, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of patients and the profession itself.
- Technical Skills: Capability to effectively use information technology to enhance and support their practices (Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel, Meditech Expanse, Computrition).
- Teamwork: The capacity to work cohesively as part of a collaborative team.
