Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Day Surgery, Pre & Post Unit at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure clear understanding of patient care plans and progress.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Physical assessment course completed within the last 5 years.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • IV Certification.
  • 2 years' recent surgery/ambulatory surgical care experience.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years' current experience in adult and pediatric/infant day surgery and Endoscopy.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years' experience in Ambulatory care.
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
