We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Consultant to join our Business Consulting team in the Mining sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading complex consulting engagements and driving business transformation initiatives for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead consulting engagements and develop detailed project plans to improve core mining and manufacturing processes.
- Execute and manage business consulting projects with different levels of complexity, effectively setting up a detailed project plan and executing work toward key milestones.
- Develop and implement metrics to ensure fulfillment of client objectives and expectations, conferring with clients and staff members to ensure efficient production methods.
- Communicate process improvement strategy within client organizations, engaging leadership in defining the business case and developing a tailored strategy.
- Lead client discussions regarding the design and implementation of digital solutions.
- Participate in Industry events and help in brand building.
- Work across multiple levels and multicultural teams.
- Maintain highly effective communication with client senior management.
- Respond to RFX from clients and prospects and manage the sales process.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required.
- At least 10 years of industry work experience with 5 years of experience in comparable consulting services.
- At least 5 years of experience in conducting mining operations or planning or mining project development OR At least 5 years of experience in crafting and building digital solutions for mining operations, automation, digital twin, or manufacturing practices OR At least 3 years of experience in Metals, Mining, or Manufacturing value chain (exploration, appraisal, development, monitoring, and commercialization).
- Two to seven years of experience in leading engagements in mining, energy, or natural resources focused consulting role or a strategic project management/advisor role within the Metals, Mining, Natural Resources, or Manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with energy markets and underlying fundamentals, regulations, and policies; specific experience and/or knowledge of specific segments of the mining, metal, or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Understanding of conventional shaft mining used for Potash mining or other mining methods, including open-pit, underground, and surface mining.
- Ability to travel 4 days a week to multiple local, state, and national client locations.
- U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in Potash or Muriate of Potash (MOP) mining in the North American region.
- Experience in mine planning and scheduling, including the use of software tools such as MineSight, Surpac, or Vulcan.
- Experience as an end user or programmer of production monitoring and control systems, such as SCADA, DCS, and MES.
- Understanding of mining automation technologies, such as autonomous haulage systems, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
- Experience in mine closure and reclamation planning and execution.
- Knowledge of the mining supply chain, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with mining finance and accounting practices, including cost estimation, budgeting, and financial modeling.
- Awareness and understanding of mining operations and methods in various regions around the global.
- Ability to interact at all levels of clients' organizations.
- Proven track record in program/project management.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients.
